A Tabata is a high-intensity workout protocol that has fitness and weight-loss benefits. It is also a very short workout. Is it like CrossFit? Is it like circuit training? It is a bit of both. Tabata training is attractive because it saves a lot of time for people. It offers the maximum benefit with the least amount of time used to get those results.

Nutrition Reality - You can't out exercise a bad diet!!!!

You can run a marathon a day and still gain weight. Even if you ate nothing but "healthy" food.  How? Simple - you eat too much.  The extra food you eat (even if healthy) has to get stored somewhere.  The somewhere, depending on your genetics, is often in the mid-section - including your stomach, love handles, hips, buttocks, and/or thighs.
